We do so to save money and also because we trust our friends and family members who told us about those home beauty remedies that actually work. Apart from saving money, these home remedies are also really effective. But you have to keep one thing in mind that not everyone’s skin and hair are the same. It doesn’t mean that if some kind of specific beauty hack is working on someone’s skin, it would work for you too. There are side effects, and you have to keep that in mind before applying anything on your face or hair. 

This article is about some of those home beauty remedies that are widely reputed and effective. They’ll work for everyone but before starting any one of them, take a look at the ingredients of that beauty hack. Because some people are allergic to some specific ingredients used in some remedies. 

Avocado and Oatmeal Face Mask

Avocados are one of the best beauty ingredients used in different home remedies. They are really effective because they are rich in Vitamin E, fiber, Vitamin B, minerals, and antioxidants. They help your skin glow if you make them a regular part of your life. If you mix avocado with the oatmeal, you can have an amazing face mask that reduces redness and also moisturizes the dry skin. Here’s the quick recipe for making the face mask. Combine ½ of avocado with ¼ cup of uncooked oatmeal and two spoons of honey. Blend them thoroughly and apply them to your face. Leave the mask on your face for 10 minutes and then wash it. You can also add apple cider vinegar while making this mask, it will work as a toner.

Coconut oil

You can use coconut oil for almost anything. We know that it’s not a common household item but I insist that you should make it an essential household item. Coconut oil can be useful for growing healthy teeth and gums. And it is done by whizzing it for 5 minutes in your mouth and then spit it out. I have done this but it didn’t work for me, but it works amazingly for one of my cousins. You can also take a spoon of coconut oil daily to keep your skin healthy and shiny. You can also massage it on your skin or you can apply it to your hair. You will be amazed by the results, so make it a part of your life. It doesn’t have any side effects so there’s no need to worry.

Facial Steam

Some facials include steam and steam opens up the pores of our skin and takes out irritants and dust particles that cause acne or damage the skin tissues. You can also do this at home, for this you should have a basin, bucket, and a glass container. Fill the glass container with the boiling water and hold your face close to the steam of the hot water. Cover your face with a towel. Be sure that you don’t get much closer because doing this will burn your skin. You can also add a drop of tea tree oil because it’s a disinfectant and also anti-inflammatory. Also, add some leaves of mint because it will help in cleaning your skin completely. Do it for 5-10 minutes but do not exceed 10 minutes. 

After that use a mask of honey. You don’t have to use a scrub, use a toner like lemon juice. After that, moisturize your face and drink lots of water.

Summars are coming up fast, which means you have to protect your skin from the sun. there’s not one thing that sunscreen can do, it can also prevent skin cancer. But if you are like me and usually forget to apply sunscreen, there are some amazing home remedies that will work for you. Do not use soap for your face because it’ll dry your skin. Take vitamin E and aspirin because they will help to reduce the swelling of your skin. To treat your skin, use freshly brewed tea which is cool, not cold. It will help in reducing the redness of your skin. 

Eye treatment

As I have told above, tea bags help in reducing the redness of your skin. Teabags are also really helpful in reducing the puffiness of your eyes. It’s becoming a trend to sleep late at night and trust me, nothing draws more attention than the dark circles under your eyes. Herbal tea is really helpful for this. You can put cool tea bags on your eyes for some time and the puffiness of your eyes will be gone.

Olive oil

Almost every kind of home remedy includes some kind of oil in it and that’s because oils are really helpful. Olive oil is a common household item but there’s something important that you need to know about olive oil. You can have shiny and healthy hair by using hair oil. You can use it as a conditioner or you can add it to your shampoo for daily usage. Taking a hot shower can damage your hair. So, if you are using olive oil but nothing’s changing with your hair, the hot water can be the reason. 

Coconut for lips

I forgot to mention this earlier, if your lips are dry due to winters, try mixing two spoons of coconut oil with two spoons of coconut sugar and one spoon of honey. And you will have an amazing lip scrub. If you don’t have coconut sugar, there is no need to worry. You can replace the coconut sugar with regular sugar. This scrub will remove the dryness of your lips and make them softer. You can also add your favorite essential oil into this mixture for more benefits.
