The 6 best Netflix movies of 2020

131

2020 has been a unique year for movies. As we know that due to Corona the shooting for some amazing movies and series has been canceled. But Netflix had a number of original films planned to release this year, and they also improved their quantity of 2020 Netflix movies.

As we have (thankfully) started the new year, we wanted to look back and highlight the best of the Netflix original films. So, after a lot of research, we have come up with the best Netflix 2020 films that we can never forget. This includes romantic, comedy, horror, and action movies. So, below is the article of the best 2020 films.

American Murder: The Family Next Door

This amazing Netflix documentary whose director was Jenny Popplewell is one of the best movies I’ve seen last year. It follows the 2018 murders of Shanann Watts, her two young daughters, and her unborn child. The most remarkable thing about this movie was the astounding footage that the director got her hands-on because the whole investigation was documented immediately by Watt’s friends. The other mysterious aspect of The American murder is that narrated from beyond the grave thanks to the absolute amount of communication from Shanann that was available, from Facebook videos and intimate text messages with her friends concerning the element of her marriage. I don’t really want to say much about this kind of film because if you really want to enjoy it, you should know as little as possible about it. But this is the best crime movie I have watched in a while. It shines the light on the tragedy and also offers an emotional journey.

Becoming

Becoming is a self-congratulatory documentary that offers something deeper and more uplifting at a time when we need it the most. Nadia Hallgren’s beautifully shot documentary in which Michelle Obama is open and honest about her life and the life that she shares with Barack. She shares how after putting the element of frustration behind, they raised their children, and then she eventually becomes the first lady. You will definitely cry after listening to some of her heartfelt stories and also because of how deeply you miss Obama in the White House. During your dark times, Michelle’s strength, determination, and good humor feel like a guiding light. This documentary makes one thing clear and that is she will never stop and neither should we.

Extraction

Extraction has two things going on and both of them are really interesting. The first thing is that it’s absolutely raw, brutal, and a powerhouse of action. The second thing is that it’s an interior story about a man trying to regain humanity when being human means being killed. Chris Hemsworth deals with both sides of his character expertly. His Tyler Rake is greedy on the edge of existence, a man who finds nothing worth-enjoying in his life. His capacity for normalcy was beaten out of him some time ago. When he gets the assignment of finding a kidnapped child and returning him, he obliged the order. But when this assignment went out of control he fought for his life, for his soul, and for his newfound friend’s future. This is the best action movie I’ve watched in 2020 and what are your reviews about it?

The half of it

The half of it is a bit like the Netflix breakout hit To All The Boys I Loved Before for a few reasons. Both of them spotlight Asian American leading ladies. And both of them were living with their cool dads after the death of their mothers. But “the half of it” is a more thoughtful, lyrical, and heartbreaking love story.  Alice Wu has written and directed this movie. This is a touching and gorgeously amazing tale about three teenagers who are trying to find their identity and are hungry for their first love. They are all wrapped in a messy and hungry love triangle. It is filled with characters that you can’t help but fall in love with them. This is a self-aware teen romance that’s bittersweet.

Enola Holmes

One of the most amazing surprises of 2020 was Enola Holmes. This movie wasn’t supposed to be a Netflix movie, it was being sold to the streamer early in the pandemic but it still found a way to find its audience in 2020. This is a delightfully charming movie and its basis is connected with Sherlock Holmes. The new thing in this movie was that Millie Bobby Brown was the youngest sibling. The theme of this movie was feminism and the mother-daughter relationship. Brown shines and Henry Cavill is also an excellent as well as handsome actor. This movie gained popularity and we can’t deny the fact that it’s amazingly presented.

The old guard

Who wants to live forever? The Old Guard has an exceptional cast with a strong story. It’s really a good action movie if you love to see fighting, blood, and gunshots. Unlike other action movies that told us their plot, this movie didn’t tell us the plot but rather they show us the plot. The casting of this movie was flawless and each character is developed beautifully and you feel a sense of maturity by the end of the film. It feels like a family on the screen and that’s why we care more about the movie. We witnessed and felt their growth, regret, fear, and anger.

These were the best Netflix movies that will never get old no matter how many times we watch them. We become emotionally attached to such movies and you will never regret watching any of these movies.
